Eye for an eye, art for an art

In the ZeroOne platform, the exchange of artworks

Do you have an artist friend? Then you know for sure that it is a nice and constructive practice, especially among the emerging, to exchange artworks with esteemed colleagues. Something like what we used to do as children with football figurines to complete the album, only in this case the good exchanged is more valuable: the materialization of creativity and artistic path of those who created it.

These exchanges are perhaps the only exception to the normal flow of works leaving the artist’s studio, which, rightly, usually requires a financial consideration in return. The artwork has rarely been considered as a good to be traded, unlike consumer products such as bread, milk or, more simply, gold.

However, today an innovative platform, which has its roots in a completely Italian component, is based on this exchange logic: the interchange of artworks. This platform is called ZeroOne and the co-founder, Ludovica Rosi, comes from the art world of our country. Young and determined, she has built one of the most disruptive realities in the digital art scene, with a particular focus on NFT.

But how does ZeroOne work?

The concept is basically simple: if you want an artwork, you can get it for free, provided that you offer something of your own in return. For each work created, the user can collect up to 10 limited-edition artworks by other artists, placing them in their digital wallet.

It is an extraordinary mechanism that works as a catalyst, unleashing digital creativity like never before; the user is in fact encouraged to get involved in creating a work of art. ZeroOne has thus enabled many digital enthusiasts to discover a talent that had not been expressed before. Collectors were also challenged to try their hand at producing artworks and, surprisingly, often the results were unintentionally appreciable.

The detractors of intangible art, once again, will have to admit that these dynamics, stimulating as well as unusual, are made possible by the fact that art can be produced, transferred and exchanged at no cost, thanks to blockchain technology and one of the most significant innovations of our contemporaneity: digital ownership.

For all art and technology enthusiasts, then, the approach is simple: just register on zeroone.art with your digital wallet, completely free, and let creativity run wild. From there, only the most pleasant part remains: explore the site in the various sections and discover the most fascinating works of artists who align with our tastes.

For those who consider this context too “not serious” for the sacred world of the art market, I suggest to look at it as a kind of gym, where new collectors can train and, maybe, new talented artists.

Ultimately, separating creativity from vile money might not be a bad idea. Art, after all, always wins.
