The Serpentine Gallery transforms into a listening space for Peter Doig’s solo exhibition “House of Music”. In this multisensory environment, visitors can view works the artist produced during his stay in Trinidad (2002–2021), while listening to soundtracks played through rare 1930s analog speakers. The paintings depict moments in which music takes center stage featuring dancers, musicians, singers. Both the canvases and the musical selections are deeply tied to the Caribbean cultural context. Viewers are invited to immerse themselves in this visual and auditory setting to reach a purely contemplative state.
