Impetuous Emilio - Abano Terme • Great Vedova exhibition at Orler Gallery

On view more than 40 artworks from the late 1930s to the imposing paintings of the 1980s

The Orler Gallery, in the renewed space in Abano Terme (Padua), offers until November 19th “Emilio Vedova - Untitled”, a retrospective curated by Cesare Orler. More than 40 artworks on view, among monumental canvases, maps and graphics, to represent a path that winds “from the figurative period of the late 1930s to engravings, from artworks of the geometric period to maps of the 1960s, to conclude with the imposing paintings of the 1980s”.

For the first time, in 65 years of activity, the gallery decides to deal with the difficulties in finding significant and authoritative works, programming in time and with precision every single choice. Uniqueness of the artworks, expressive richness, historical importance of each proposal: to these aspects is added a detailed set-up and aimed at enhancing the gestural power of Vedova, through dimensional, tonal and biographical juxtapositions of each work, so as to create a path with even educational implications in the examination of his work.

AN EXHIBITION SET-UP WHICH EXALTS THE VEDOVA'S GESTURAL IMPETUS, THROUGH DIMENSIONAL, TONAL AND BIOGRAPHICAL JUXTAPOSITIONS

Therefore, balance and power modulated within an environment that has the will to change the general aspect of “making gallery”, bringing the private exhibition experience in a 3.0 version. Consequently, a careful “contemporary” vision of the master’s artistic process emerges. The early figurative youth (self-taught and passionate about drawing) already show the signs of a violent emotional detachment so close to coming that only the subsequent attendance of the most noble Venetian landscape - among the Biennials that count, Peggy Guggenheim and Carlo Cardazzo - make inevitable, while her painting turns itself into that explosive research between tone, gesture and sign that defines an era of enormous changes.
